WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin treatment that is designed to clean, polish, refine and exfoliate your skin so that you can experience all the joys of lusciously hydrated, smooth and glowing perfection.
At H’s Place, our therapists use only the most advanced machinery to perform a micro massage that delivers results that are second to none. The procedure can take from as little as 20 minutes, depending on what areas you are targeting, and focuses on removing surface layers of dead skin so that your skin is stimulated to produce healthy, soft, glowing skin from the deeper layers and up.
You will always experience an individual and personalised treatment as our machine can be adjusted to suit all skin types from dry to oily and all different levels of skin thickness. This means we can really cater for your skin concerns ranging from acne, congestion, fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, uneven texture, pore size, superficial pigmentation and more!
Every experience at H’s Place is a VIP experience and the Diamond Microdermabrasion treatment is no different. Our highly trained therapists will have a thorough consultation with you to determine your results and then guide you through the process as well as demonstrating the immediate and significant improvements to your skin.

- Excess oil production
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Enlarged and open pores
- Superficial age spots
- Dull, stressed, and congested skin
What are some of the results of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion results include:
- A reduction in enlarged pores
- Congested skin cleared of dead skin cells and dirt
- A reduction in acne and acne scarring through deep exfoliation and cleansing
- A reduction of pigmentation and sun damage

Does it hurt and is it safe?
Microdermabrasion is 100% safe and you will experience virtually no pain! Our clinicians will always customise the treatment to suit your skin type. When you book in for your VIP service, you’ll find the treatments to be comfortable with a slight tingling sensation, similar to mild sandpaper gently rubbing against the skin. A slightly sunburnt sensation is experienced for a short time afterwards but then everything is back to normal! The best part of this treatment is that it’s not a harsh or deep process so it requires no downtime. That means you can schedule in your sessions at any time of the day, allowing you to get back to your normal activities before you know it!
What effects will be visible afterwards?
While you do experience some visual effects after your treatment, most signs vanish in a matter of days! And of course, it’s different for everyone. Some common visual effects are it’s normal for the skin to be slightly red afterwards, lasting up to a few hours. Mild shedding of the skin can happen in the first few days of early treatments, but usually stops occurring once your skin is in better condition. Where acne pustules have been treated, the area may be red and small scabs may form, lasting for no more than a few days. It’s really important that you don’t pick any scabs, as this can cause scarring. The good news is that after a few days, you will see a visible improvement, with dull and stressed looking skin appearing smoother and fresher.
How many treatments do I need?
While you can see results after just one session, to get the best results possible we recommend having multiple sessions over a period of time. For general skin rejuvenation, approximately six sessions are recommended. For problematic skin, a course of six to twelve sessions is recommended. Your microdermabrasion treatments are performed every two to three weeks, with each session taking anywhere between twenty to forty minutes to complete, depending on your skin type and skin concerns.
The skin is constantly renewing itself so we always recommend that our VIP clients return on a regular basis to maintain their beautiful and radiant skin, generally every one to three months. The frequency of your treatments can be decided as part of your treatment plan, which is designed during an initial complimentary consultation with one of our skilled clinicians.
How does microdermabrasion differ from dermabrasion?
Simple: Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that removes only the surface layer of dead skin, while dermabrasion is an invasive procedure that removes several layers of skin at once. Dermabrasion often requires a general or local anaesthetic, and leaves skin red, swollen and extremely sensitive for up to two weeks, ouch! This is why at H’s Place we chose Microdermabrasion as a key treatment. It’s a much milder treatment that is painless with minimal after-effects.
What’s the difference between crystal and diamond microdermabrasion machines?
That’s a great question! We care about the safety of our VIPs and we also want you to get the best results possible when having a microdermabrasion treatment. Crystal microdermabrasion utilises a constant flow of micro-crystals to exfoliate and smooth the skin while the diamond microdermabrasion achieves the same results but with a laser cut diamond tip wand. The diamond tip wand allows us to treat the areas closer to your eyes and mouth with more accuracy while the crystal machine has a limited scope due to the possibility of crystals getting into the eyes and causing damage. Diamond tip machines are also easier to control, are less irritating to the skin, and result in a more precise treatment. At H’s Place, we use a medical-grade diamond tip machine for all microdermabrasion treatments so that our clients are guaranteed the best results, every time!
Where can Microdermabrasion be performed?
The treatment can be safely performed anywhere on your body, including the face, arms, chest, hands, neck and back – anywhere you want soft, smooth skin.
Can I go back to work after a treatment?
You sure can! You might experience some slight redness afterwards but this does not need to disrupt your daily activities - no downtime needed. If anything, our only strongly recommendation is that you avoid any sun exposure afterwards in order to experience the best results possible.
